International

Brendan Cox is the Executive Director of Crisis Action and currently leading its work on Darfur.

Brendan previously worked for Oxfam specialising in conflict, where he led a team working on Iraq, Darfur, Northern Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. He helped lead international campaigns such as Control Arms (the public campaign for an International Arms Trade Treaty) and played a important role in the successful civil society push for the 'responsibility to protect' agenda agreed at the UN summit in September 2005.

Prior to joining Oxfam he worked on media and advocacy for smaller NGOs. He has also worked in the former Yugoslavia and has a postgraduate degree in International Development.

Valerie Rogers is Crisis Action's international finance and administration coordinator.

Val has worked for a range of NGOs including the British Council and a London Business Enterprise Agency, in various financial, administrative and managerial roles.

Brussels

Sara Tesorieri is Brussels Director of Crisis Action and leading its work in targeting the European Union.

Before Crisis Action Sara worked for the European-American Business Council as their Policy Director and prior to that at the Atlantic Council of the United States where she was Assistant Director of Transatlantic Relations.

Martin Konecny is Political Analyst and Campaigner for Crisis Action in Brussels.

Martin previously worked for the environmental organisations Friends of the Earth and CEE Bankwatch Network in Brussels. Prior to that he worked as a journalist and with various NGOs in the Czech Republic. He has a degree in sociology and political science.

France

Caroline Baudot is France Director of Crisis Action.

Caroline previously worked for Human Rights Watch. Before this she was at the Coalition for the International Criminal Court in New York where she coordinated global NGO campaigns and led the Coalition's advocacy work at the United Nations. Prior to this, she worked at the International Secretariat of Amnesty International on UN special procedures. She has a postgraduate degree in International Relations.

Germany

Susanne Baumann is Germany Director for Crisis Action.

Susanne previously worked for Amnesty International Germany where she was in charge of government and NGO liaison and led the organisation's advocacy work. Before this she worked on the human rights situation in the Americas. She has a postgraduate degree in law.

Arne Behrensen is Political Analyst and Campaigner for Crisis Action in Germany.

Arne previously worked as a researcher for a member of the German Bundestag's foreign relations committee. His main focus were political crisises and armed conflicts in Africa and the Middle East. He holds a graduate degree in political science.

UK

Gemma Mortensen is UK Director of Crisis Action. She currently leads our work on Iran.

Gemma worked previously as a public outreach consultant to the International Criminal Court, focusing on Sudan. She has worked on human rights issues for the UK Mission to the United Nations in New York and for the European Commission Delegation in Geneva.

Prior to this, she was stationed in Sudan: for the European Commission and then with International Media Support. She has reported and produced for the BBC World Service and written on international affairs issues for various publications. She has a postgraduate degree in Human Rights and Democratisation.

Hannah Lownsbrough is Crisis Action’s Senior Political Analyst and Campaigner.

Before joining Crisis Action, Hannah was a researcher at Demos, a UK-based thinktank, where she worked on international and domestic policy issues. She has also worked for Avaaz.org, the online advocacy group, helping to design and deliver campaigns on human rights abuses in Zimbabwe, Middle East peace talks and global warming. She is Chair of trustees for a community youth group on an estate in London and is also a trustee of Crisis, the national organisation for single homeless people. She has a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

Nick Grono (Chair) is Vice-President for Advocacy and Operations for the International Crisis Group, based in Brussels. He is a lawyer by background and previously worked for the Australian government as chief of staff to the Attorney-General.

Lotte Leicht is EU Director of Human Rights Watch. She has worked extensively on conflict crises including Bosnia and Darfur.

Sarah Mulley is the Coordinator of the UK Aid Network, working with UK NGOs to make their research, policy, and advocacy work on aid more effective. She previously spent several years researching decision-making in international institutions and conducting policy work for a range of NGOs, think tanks and government bodies.

Nicola Reindorp is the head of Oxfam International in New York. She specialises in humanitarian advocacy. She sits on the board in a personal capacity.
